Alex Ator

My name is Alexander Ator, I graduated from Plentywood High School,
Plentywood, Montana in 2003. During High School I was active in football,
basketball, track, baseball, FFA, student council, National Honor Society
and various other activities. After High School I attended MSU-Bozeman and
graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics with an Education
Endorsement the summer of 2008.

I began my teaching career in Froid, Montana the fall of 2008. In Froid, I
was the 7-12 mathematics teacher and coached various activities. I was also
active in helping out around the school and community. I did everything from
cooking for fundraisers to driving the ambulance. While in Froid, I began
taking classes through MSU-Bozeman for my Masters Degree in Education

The fall of 2011, I was hired as the High School and Middle School Principal
for Shields Valley Schools. At Shields I have kept myself busy by teaching
advanced math classes (statistics, calculus, pre-calculus), coaching junior
high football, chaperoning students on trips and in 2012 I became the
schools Activity Director. I also completed my Masters Degree in Education
Leadership through MSU-Bozeman summer of 2012.

During my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife Morgan, hiking, being
on the water, attending Cat's games and working outdoors. I also enjoy just
talking and getting to know the many great people who live in this beautiful
valley. I hope to continue to better myself and in turn assist in continuing
the Shields Valley High School tradition of producing successful graduates.

Elementary Principal

Alan Peterson

I grew up in Gardiner and graduated from Gardiner High School.  I spent the next year going to the May School of Broadcasting where I received my radio broadcasting license.  From there, I went to Montana State University and graduated with an elementary education degree and a math option.  My first teaching job was right here in the Shields Valley where I taught 5th and 6th grades from 1991-1996.  In July of 1996, I was hired as elementary principal.  I went on to get my master's degree in schools administration from Montana State.  I have been the elementary principal for the past fifteen years and have had many coaching positions during my twenty-year tenure.

I am married to Leslie, my wife of twenty years, and we have two children:  Brianne (9th grade) and Brock (7th grade).  As a family was have many interests, but our passion is traveling and seeing different places.  We attend as many Bobcat, Seahawk and mariner games as possible, but still make sure we support the REBELS and all of their activities.
