NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 2009--DALLAS THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED NLC IN DALLAS WAS CANCELLED DUE TO THE OUTBREAK OF SWINE FLU IN THE AREA. THE NLC WAS RESCHEDULED FOR THE END OF JUNE. The NLC was a great experience and we all had a great time. Kristy McInerney competed in Interview Skills and placed 11th! Shawn Stutterheim competed in ParliPro Concepts. Whitney, Corin and Carly received their Ambassador Torch Awards. The Shields Valley Chapter came home with THREE top-five chapter plaques--BPA Business and Marketing; Safety Awareness and Community Action. The members of the chapter were also recognized as QUALITY CHAPTER members.

Congratulations to the Shields Valley BPA for a class-showing at the State Leadership Conference in Kalispell. Kristy McInerney and Shawn Stutterheim will compete at the National Conference in Interview Skills and ParliPro Concepts respectively. Carly, Caity, Trillium, Whitney and Corin will receive their Ambassador Torch Award at National also. The Shields Valley Chapter was named a Silver Star Chapter for the third consecutive year and took First place in the Chain of Love Special Olympic Donation program again. The chapter members presented the Torch Ceremony at the Second Session and it was amazing. Congratulations!
State in Kalispell was eventful to say the least. A winter blizzard made things really interesting and gave everyone a transportation nightmare.
Regional 2009 Results
The Shields Valley BPA Chapter competed at the Region 5 Leadership Conference at Park High Monday, January 12. Eighteen members competed and sixteen qualified for the State Leadership Conference to be held in Kalispell March 8, 9, and 10.
