2008 National Leadership Conference

Reno, Nevada

Sam, Sky, Brittany, Michael Ann, Carly, Trillium, Hailey, Caity and Kristen traveled to National to compete and accept awards.

The following pictures depict the fun everyone had!  But, the reason we were there was to compete and accept Ambassador and Top Five Chapter awards.  Be sure to go clear to the bottom of the page for all the results!

Bowling at the National Bowling Center was the Montana Special Event--Fun, fun, fun.  Everyone bowled pretty well, except for Mrs. Richards!

Michael Ann and Hailey take a breather from the rigors of bowling.  Carly and Brittany don shades and look glamorous. And, the bunch is ready to call it a night.  It was just the beginning of a great week.

Caity, Kristen, Sam, Brittany and Carly "Found Their Fit" and received the Ambassador Torch Award at a special ceremony.

A cruise of Lake Tahoe provided fun and relaxation for most.  Mr. Swenson was the chaperone for the day and it was SO MUCH FUN, that most fell asleep on the way back.  Another highlight--eating authentic "Basque" cuisine at Louie's Basque Corner--featured for the evening was  lamb stew, tongue and sweetbreads.  The amazing thing about dining at Louie's was that we were served a complete "seven-course" meal.  The Basque culture eats in courses: soup, bread, cheese, salad, beans, fries, and finally--the main course.  Wow!  What an experience.

Eating at special places was an important activity.  A night at Toucan Charlie's provided us with a wonderful seafood buffet.  Worth the money!  The only sad part was that Sky, Sam and Trillium ate at 4 at our motel!  Not a good idea!

Ready for the final hurrah, everyone got together for a final picture before the awards ceremony at the Event Center downtown.  The Shields Valley BPA members proudly show off their THREE Top-Five Chapter plaques for Safety, Community Action, and Special Olympics.  It was a very good year and a wonderful trip!
