Results of 2010 BPA State Leadership Conference—Shields Valley

It was a VERY GOOD year for Shields Valley BPA.  Thirteen students qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA, May 4-9.  The results are as follows:

·        Silver Star Chapter.  Three in the state this year (Shields Valley, Denton, Sidney)  This is our fourth consecutive year as a Silver Star Chapter.

·        Thirteen students received their Statesman Torch Award

·        First place in Chain of Love.  Raised $1,532 as a contribution for Montana Special Olympics.  Third consecutive year as first place Chain of Love contribution.

·        Caity Zimmerman’s graphic design won first place in the state conference t-shirt competition.  Caity’s design was featured this year on all of the conference t-shirts.

·        19 top ten placings!!!!  **Denotes National qualifier

Results for Region5 Leadership Conference held at Park High January 11, 2010

Monday, January 11, was a “good day for the good guys” as the Shields Valley BPA members competed at the Region 5 Leadership Conference held at Park High.  The chapter brought home ten first place plaques and had 47 placings that qualify to compete at State in Billings.—Open tests aren’t counted.  True highlights of the day:  A sweep of Interview Skills and Advanced Interview Skills, and the Small Business Management Teams placing 1^st and 2^nd.
